Polygonum?
A dense patch of this 1.5m tall plant is growing on a riverbank in Cawdor. Evidently in the family Polygonaceae (knotweeds etc...). Can anyone identify it, please?
Try looking up Persicaria campanulata - guess what it's commonly called lesser knotweed! - If that is what it is. It is not a Polygonum but without a fresh specimen to look at can't be sure. I think I will start recording it though because as with all of these the more you are aware the more you are aware of...
